Whoah - couldn't even get past the title!

quote: The war in Ukraine is unprovoked if you believe that America has never ever tried to contain, hobble, or disintegrate Russia.

Of course we have tried all that at some point in history including invasion during WW1 to get back materiels we provided for them to fight the axis after the Bolsheviks withdrew from the war.

That statement is so broad and unfocused to the current issue as to be blind!

This is INDEED an unprovoked war of aggression and territorial conquest BY Russia- just as they did in Crimea and STILL have troops in parts of Georgia.

While NATO was designed to protect Europer from the Warsaw Pact which was headed by the USSR- that issue became moot once there no longer was a USSR and some former Soviet Republics did become members of NATO (Baltics) as did some former Warsaw Pact members (Poland). The fact that they RUSHED to become members tells you all you need to know about their view of Russia.

With the Warsaw Pact and USSR in the dustbin of history, NATO remains a DEFENSIVE organization- so yes, the war is unprovoked!!!

Heck, even Putin asked about joining NATO.
