When you call a MAGA nut out on the Jan6 attack they inevitably go to "what about the BLM protests " as if people who did commit acts of violence during the mostly peaceful BLM protests got away with it or something. My wife and I attended a couple protests here in Grand Rapids MI which were peaceful, but which later in the evening as most of the crowd dispered some agitators began breaking windows and vandalizing nearby buildings. But this was a tiny minority and maybe even not part of the march.

But What irritates me to no end is the faux equivalence argument!

Ignoring the violence as an issue, just focusing on the protests at BLM and the protest at Jan6- the BLM protests were due to ACTUAL GRIEVANCES! Protesting real injustice of unjustifiable killing of black citizens by unaccountable police! REAL GRIEVANCES.

In contrast, Jan6 protest was a protest of a fake grievances based on a lie.

There is no equivalence.
