I guess here's the way I view things it's become way too cheap and easy for some members of the progressive side of politics to just resort to the standard name calling of corporate Democrats etc

I don't think there's a difference between her politics in mind is more difference of tactics and communication methods

in parliamentary systems if no party wins an outright majority then they have to form a coalition with another party or parties to form a government and in such cases then all members of the coalition expect to get something out of it and there's going to be compromised to do so.

we effectively have a two party system but with each of the two parties there are different wings so to speak and within each of the parties you end up having a veritable coalition

in the Republican Party you've got the Tea Party wing and then you got some moderates and they have to work within their party to achieve goals that each of their wings wants to get in the Democratic Party we've got the progressive wing and then you've got more center left wing of the party each hoping to get something out of the coalition

has the progressive side gotten as much as it's wanted over the years? no and it's true that the more centered parts of the Democratic Party tend to have more power but I think that's changing gradually

but you're not gonna win an argument by calling people names if you need to form a coalition with them
