1. Mike Johnson NEVER had control of his caucus.

2. The SAVE Act doesn't just require voter ID when voting. ID is required to vote in most states anyway. The Act requires people to prove citizenship by way of a birth certificate or passport when registering to vote. Yet many people don't readily have access to such documents such as notorized birth certificates or passports (which less than half of Americans possess). Women who changed their names when getting married could be denied registration because their ID would not match their birth certificate.

The SAVE Act would not even be implemented for this November's election. The proposed law is a STUNT to solidify the MAGAGOP false message that non-citizens are voting in droves and when Trump loses in November after the Democrats blocked the SAVE Act, they will use it as a talking point that he lost because of voter fraud.

3. YEP a shut down will show the voters the MAGAGOP is not responsible! Not raising the debt ceiling is irresponsible. This was actually discussed on the fiction TV series Newsroom in 2012. It's amazing how much of that show is still relevant a decade later.
