There is a precedent for voting for one and not the other.

I ran for Congress in a safe red district in 2016. My name was right below Hillary's on the ballot. But I noticed that in some precincts, HRC got more votes than I did which told me some people who normally vote GOP did not want to vote for Trump, so they voted HRC and then moved back to the GOP side of the ballot
