The USA did NOT pressure Ukraine to join NATO- NATO has an open policy for European nations to join. The Baltic nations clearly understood that joining as soon as they could would prevent domination by a future Russian government.

Even IF Ukraine was being asked (or asking) to join NATO that is NO excuse for Russian invasion. Sovereign nations should be able to make their own national policy choices.

If Ukraine is indeed "fighting to the last Ukrainian" one need only look at Putin's regime in Russia to know WHY Ukraine doesn't want to be in Russia's orbit.

The Ukraine-Russia relationship is like an abusive domestic relationship and articles like this are part of a "blame the victim" (Ukraine) and excuse the abuser (Russia)
