The recent ruling overturning RvW puts us into the same period as the infamous Dred Scott case with states battling states, states trying to apply their laws to other states.
The overtuning of the ruling also opens a pandoras box. If we consider Roe as falling under a right to privacy, then apparently we do NOT have a right to privacy and contraception and any sex outside of heterosexual intercourse is now a target for regulation and punishment.
Further, the current SCOTUS ruled based on the religious precepts of TWO particular sects of Christianity- evangelicals and Catholics. No other religions adhere or espouse the same views regarding abortion. So SCOTUS is implementing a minority religious view and imposing it on the entire nation.
And if you want to consider history and tradition- other than Catholics, even evangelicals didn't get fired up about abortion until the evangelical sect was wedded to the Republican Party and they needed abortion as an election wedge issue
