The primary process NEEDS to change! Iowa and NH as first ? This has been ludicrous for decades.

I was also disappointed with Faiz Shakir's NYTimes commentary saying he would vote against the new plan because it includes South Carolina. (Shakir was the presidential campaign manager for Bernie Sanders in 2020). He acknowledges the reason for SC to be included as one of the first four primaries was likely due to how the African-American vote there pushed Biden over the top, but he objects to including it because it isn't a swing state like Michigan or Georgia.

So even if we take him at his word on his argument that is STILL no reason to NOT vote for improvement- Failing to do so because the outcome isn't perfect is to exhibit the Fallacy of Perfection.

But I say to the contrary SC certainly deserves to be early- the litmus test to candidates to appeal to the African-American voters is JUST as important as the need to appeal to voters in swing states.
