The other lesson from the Tea Party? STAY IN THE PARTY... i.e. work within the Republican Party. The Tea Party didn't abandon the Republican Party when they did lose.. they stayed in, taking safe Republican district seats in order to move the Republicans to the right.

Too many progressives/leftists, when they don't win, instead complain about Democratic centrism and bolt from the Democratic Party and flock to the Greens or the DSA. All that does is allow centrism to remain anchored.
