The GOP has botched this so badly because they cater to publicity rather than substance.

FIrst, the current "investigation" wasn't even an offially voted impeachment inquiry- it was a fishing expedition. So even IF they do an official vote for an impeachment investigation it will be grandstanding.

Heck- Comer subpeona'd Hunter Biden who said he would be happy to testify in an open televised hearing. WHAT?! Comer's head exploded. He wants closed hearings so he can later go on Fox News and make shi%$ up.
