The first error is frantically worrying about a “species ending war" with Russia. Not going to happen. It didn’t happen in 1962 and is far far less likely now. This obsession by fellow progressives of a war with Russia fed the narrative that helped Trump win and Hillary lose.

Second error is dismissing documented attempted at interference in our election as well as collusion.

Third error is the strawman “if I know a Russian I must be at least an unwitting asset." Nobody really assets that.

That does not dismiss the possibility we are in or will be in a new cold war. I think we are because war is going on via proxies just as it did during the days of USSR. How we manage this or dial it down will take solid diplomacy-which Trump clearly does not have a capacity for.

But we won’t dial it back by ceding the field to Russia or doing things that aid it in ways against our interests or those of human rights interests.
