Indeed. The plutocracy & oligarchy in the US has revived the red scare, seeing socialism, communism and apparently Marxism under every bed and in every closet. This is literally being done under a likely deliberate mis-framing of the social safety net and social welfare approach to governance as socialism or communism. It is nothing more than cover to keep as much of the pie for themselves and victim blame the poor or unfortunate for their lot while keeping the system rigged to do just that.
