The same can be said about many of my fellow progressives on the left in American politics- they undermine their own goals by being sanctimonious, vicious when disagreed with, snobby about the very people they expect their policies to help. They refuse to see any compromise as acceptable taking an all or nothing approach in a political environment which requires compromise. They too often push a level of 'correctness' and then lambast anyone they think stepped over this line.

One young woman (who has a masters degree in something) argued against Michigan's Fair Wage petition because it would "keep people in those jobs" and followed it with "I would rather see workers collectives"

(insert eyeroll- most workers don't want to be in a collective- they just want a fair paying job and then go home to their families. Sounding like some white privileged socialist dilettante is not going to get you the blue collar vote).

Again this echoes so parallel to our current events.
