Pretty Woman is basically a sex based remake of My Fair Lady based on the classic novel Pygmalion.
Rebecca DeMornay is simply HOT and sexy! She was sexy in "And God Created Woman" (another remake of a movie of the same title which starred Bridget Bardot) .
Catherine Deneuve is a French treasure.
I have a different take on Poor Things than you. IMO it really had an undercurrent of female empowerment-the men in the film especially Rufallo's character all thought they were using Bella (Stone) when in fact it was she using them. My favorite scene in the film is Bella and her friend are on teh way to a socialist meeting. Rufallo begs her to come back and she refuses and he calls her "whore" to which she replies "workers being the means of their own production."
Agree on your Hathaway comment- she's fantastic and under-appreciated.
You missed Waterloo Bridge (1940 film) a tragic film starring the incomparable Vivien Leigh- information at the link.
