Oh look- another apologist for gun capitalism. Resorting to the tropes about "more people killed by hands than by guns" Yeah sure- the killer at the school strangled 19 children in a manner of a couple minutes. Jeez.

you are wrong on assault rifle use declining after the law expired. "A 2019 study out of New York University’s School of Medicine found that mass shooting deaths involving assault weapons fell slightly in the decade of the federal assault weapon ban, and then rose dramatically in the decade that followed. That’s the time frame for Biden’s statement."

Completely disagree on using the AR for hunting- it is all about the bullets- small and high velocity, but when the bullet hits a body the bullet becomes unstable and causes lots of damage- The purpose is to make an enemy combatant no longer battle capable if you didn't kill him.

Add to the issue that you can add high capacity magazines and quick replacement of magazines- and we have a MILITARY war weapon on the streets now.

Handguns indeed are used in more mass shootings- and that depends on how one defines "mass"- the congressional research service defines it as 4 killings.

But I would suggest that without a doubt MORE people are killed in a single incident with an AR15 than with handguns

the use of shotguns in mass murder is at least HALF of that using rifles- especially the AR15. The following is a PARTIAL list of when an AR-15-style weapon was used in a mass shooting:

Feb. 14, 2018: Shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida leaves 17 people dead.

Oct. 1, 2017: The Las Vegas slaughter of 58 people.

Nov. 5, 2017: The Sutherland Springs, Texas, church shooting that claimed 26 lives.

June 12, 2016: The Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., that left 49 dead.

Dec. 2, 2015: The San Bernardino, Calif., shooting that killed 14 people.

Dec. 14, 2012: The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut that took 27 lives.
