Nothiing in the constitution says the states are "sovereign." And the 10th amendment also does not say the states are sovereign.

Sovereign implies indendent.

And you DO realize that there are OTHER amendments- much of the Constitution is at odds with other portions

And yes I have read the Federalist Papers and the Anti ones as well- these are great insight into the debate over the Constitution but are themselves NOT legal documents governing our nation.
