Ukraine desiring of NATO membership is in no way a provocation to Russia. If they are talking about it now I guess it is because Ukraine has been provoked by an UNprovoked invasion.

Ukraine gave up its nukes after the dissolution of the USSR in exchange for territorial integrity which Russia nearly immediately reneged on with the occupation of Crimea

Of course Ukraine would ask for training by Nato given that Russia was trying to destabilize the eastern part of Ukraine with "little green men" infiltrating Ukraine and using paramilitaries to try to annex those regions to Russia.

The Maidan wasn't a coup- Yanukovich was pro-russian. He also jailed his political opponent(s). He withdrew from an agreement to join the EU which most Ukrainians wanted sparking protests in which his security killed over 100 people.
