It is true that EVs and ICE cars have about the same polluting effect in manufacuring them- and if both sat on the car lot and never moved they remain equal in pollution- but cars are not meant to sit and as soon as an EV starts moving compared to its ICE competitor it immediately begins providing benefits to the environment
