Israel - Gaza
Yes, I wish Biden had done more to stop the death toll and help civilians but UNWRA is not the vehicle. But this is also on Hamas, who received BILLIONS of dollars in aid money and did absolutely nothing to improve the lives of the people living in Gaza. Instead they constructed a three level underground military complex
Ask yourself, Why is it only the Palestinians have their own "refugee" aid group when all other refugees in the world are serviced by the UNHCR?
Netanyahu and his rightwingers want an Israel from "the river to the sea" also- and are engaging in ethnic cleansing, IMO. Likud has damaged the two state solution for sole purpose of taking all the land. The USA under ALL administrations, not just Biden's, should have put our foot down on the constant settlement building - stealing land in the west bank. Taking territory from weaker neighbors should have ceased after WW2.
That said, Israel has as much a right to exist as does a Palestinian state. Calls by some to not only stop the war but also to eliminate Israel as a nation. Apparently, Jews can live anywhere they want just so long as they are not in charge of anything.
Ukraine
Yes anyone who advocates ending support for Ukraine is being a Putin Stooge. The Ukrainians will decide when it is in their interest to stop fighting. Until then support them.
Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons in 1994 [1] and was given territorial integrity guarantees which Putin has violated. Putin sent in instigators to eastern Ukraine to foment secession and create an excuse to invade. He pulled the same playbook on Georgia, sending in instigators in northern Georgia and still has Russian troops there.
The roadmap Putin is using is straight from Alexander Dugin's 1997 book "Foundations of Geopolitics"[1] in which he calls Ukraine, essentiall, a fake nation. Putin has echoed that same phrase. The book also calls for absorbing a couple other nations back into Russian control.
The age of grabbing territory from neighbors was over after WW2- yet Putin is repeating it and if you let a bully threaten nuclear weapons to get away with it, there will be no end to it. He won't use nukes.
And don't think policymakers haven't considered the nuclear inventory in the event of a Russian collapse. I guarantee they have even if you haven't heard of it publicly.
Johnstone has little credibility IMO- considering she blocks respondents who criticize her. She's a professional America hater. One need not listen to her to know that our Iraq war was illegal and immoral- I protested it.
