Installing a democracy in Afghanistan was always problematic.

Trump had a YEAR to plan an exit and didn't do squat. He sonveniently pushed a date past the 2021 Inauguration. If re-electe).d, he could muck it up and what's the downside? (And he would have mucked it up because his administration was always a chaotic mess and revolving door). If not re-elected (which he was not), he tosses his toilet paper of a treaty at the next president.

Trump treaty made NO provisions to prevent Taliban military advances. He released hundreds of Taliban fighters. His unilateral actions cut out the very government we were supporting. The Afghan government was cut off at the knees the minute Pompeo signed the agreement.

How's this for undercutting the Afghan army and government: Trmp had troops abandon Bagram in the middle of the night without telling the Afghan army commander! Any thoughts you have that he could have managed an actual real exit is ludicrous!

"U.S. left behind 3.5 million items, all itemized by the departing U.S. military. They include tens of thousands of bottles of water, energy drinks and military ready-made meals, known as MRE’s. big ticket items left behind include thousands of civilian vehicles, many of them without keys to start them, and hundreds of armored vehicles. Kohistani said the U.S. also left behind small weapons and the ammunition for them" [1]

Mr Farris: How long exactly do you think the USA should continue to be there? If it hasn't worked in TWENTY years it will not work in another twenty.
