I'm going to 1st relay my own experience as a child of divorce in 1968

My parents divorce was very bitter and when they divorced my dad took my mom to court to prove she was an unfit mother in order to get custody

She was unfit she also to this fay at the age of 83 still does not know how to manage money nor balance a checkbook and I help her with her finances 'keeping them in order

Anyways my dad proved she was an unfit mother and got custody
Probably the fact that she beat me so badly when I was 4 that I was almost hospitalized and relatives wanted to call the police on her didn't help . I remember laying on a sofa with an ice pack on the left side of my face because it was so swollen from being beaten.

My mother never paid child's support to my dad and he struggled to raise three kids through recessions and job losses.

It seems to me it's the woman in this case that's being selfish and manipulative to boot. The court has already taken into account her living conditions with other children in addition to her income the man's income and his children with her that that money is already determined by the court. If I was to give him advice I would tell him do not allow the court order to be modified whatsoever because then it's locked in. If hes feeling generous on occasion from the child support she gives him he can buy her a grocery store gift card or give her back some cash periodically which doesn't alter the core agreement
