I work in engineering in a union shop. It is the second union (UAW) shop in which i have worked since 2018 and many union workers vote for Trump and Republicans.

One worker 5 years ago told me he voted against Democrats because they wanted to "take his guns" though no legislation ever has been proposed much passed that would actually TAKE guns.

Now ? I can't be sure why they vote GOP since as the article points out - the GOP does actually nothing for working people! The gap between Productivity vs wages earned by working class has consistently widened since 1980 under mostly GOP neo-liberal economics (aided of course by centrist Clinton).
