I really despise the phrase "Vote blue no matter who" Whoever made it up as living in Dreamland

we've already seen that if you don't vote for a Democrat and instead vote for some third party that we get a Republican in office in many levels of the political sphere. Nader help get bush elected and Stein help get Trump elected- Mathematical fact.

I do wish we had an electoral system in which representatives could be in office in the percentage of which they take from the voting booth that would be awesome but it's not the way it works.

It works this way in parliamentary systems however under those systems if a given party doesn't achieve a full majority on its own in order to form a government they have to form a coalition with another party

We have a system in which the coalition's exists within each of the two major parties. right now the Democratic party is actually a better Coalition of Interest than the Republican party which is basically a right-wing clown car

the Coalition in the Democratic party is the progressives along with the Centrist. under a coalition each side expects to get something and I don't think that the progressives have gotten nothing we haven't got as much as we want but we're certainly not getting zero

So yes the only way to keep Republicans out of office is to vote Democrat and the only way to get any Progressive policies past is to vote Democrat

I'm a progressive and I ran for office in 2016 on the Democratic ticket. I walked into a Bernie Sanders campaign office where they were holding a rally one night and the woman running the office literally ignored me merely because I said I was a Democrat. No bothering to find out what my positions were what district I was running in just merely dismissed immediately because of a label that she assumed meant that one thing to her without knowing what it meant to me.
