I like your writing and your views on these issues. In this case, at least according to a still photo from police bodycam, she had a gun at one point. I would hope journalists vetted this photo for accuracy.
Regardless of a gun or not, we know police are all too willing to shoot people of color. We have an ongoing issue here in Grand Rapids where a young man was executed by local officer a half mile from my house and I am skeptical the local county prosecutor will actually charge the policeman :(
