I have had this argument with people online- the reality is the complainers about the debt forgiveness are really NOT paying for it- That they think they are is a dodge by politicians ignoring the reality of how federal financing works (reference MMT- Modern Monetary Theory). We do not live under a gold standard and the pie isn't getting cut so they get less.

Politicians are simply playing the politics of resentment as they have been for decades-

->White people losing power? resent black civil rights

->Some people collecting welfare? resent downtrodden recipients

-> Some students got debt relief? Resent students
