I had a older cousin like that. He dropped out of college after one year and went to work at International Harvester in Ft Wayne Indiana making really decent money. Then in the early 1980s as Reaganism took hold, I-H closed up shop there and he was out of work- he whined the rest of his life.
I have had to adapt. Graduated with a bachelor's degree to teach music in 1983 as schools began cutting funding to music programs. Moved to retail management for ten years then into manufacturing in 1995 working my way into engineering in 1999.
