I am not anti-gun, btw, efinitely buying a Walther PPS 9mm. Considering getting a shotgun. And considering getting a Michigan Concealed carry license.

As to AR15 and hunting- no doubt a decent varmint tool, but you are not eating coyotes- no disagreement with it as a tool to kill troublesome species- and it is a tool for that for the same reasons I specified it as a war weapon. It is happenstance you use it on troublesome varmints.

Just because we did something in 1907 doesn't make it appropriate these days considering that 100 years later society (and behavior) has changed. The 1920 census marked the first time in which over 50 percent of the U.S. population was defined as urban so until then we were a rural society for the most part.

I think the hysteria argument is the chicken blaming the egg- the gun manufacturers aided by the marketing firm called the NRA have drastically amped up marketing of these weapons. So called hysteria by gun control and media is a result- and the very fact that mass shooters copy previous ones combined with the fact that the AR15 is literally a military weapon only reinforces the argument for a ban.
