HRCs losses is due to the nature of the Electoral College process. Perhaps she could have campaigned more in some key swing states like Michigan, but I personally doubt it would have made a difference.

I ran for Congress in 2016 as a Democrat in a safe Republican district and in numerous voting precincts Hillary got more votes than me. My conclusion is some typically Republican voters voted H because they didn't want Trump but went back to the Republican side of the ballot the rest of the way down.

The anti-Hillary right was stronger the the anti Trump Republicans.

There was also the diversion here in Michigan of 30K+ more votes to Jill Stein (Green Party) in 2016 than Stein got in 2012. (the 30K increase was alone MORE votes than she received in 2012)!
