Hamas is NOT a "political group" nor are they a resistance organization- they are terrorists.

They have interest in a political solution except for the extinction of the state of Israel which is never going to happen.

To say they have been governing Gaza is a real stretch-sure they won an election in 2006 and haven't held one since.

While Israeli policies share blame with conditions in Gaza, Hamas had done very little to improve lives in Gaza either as they used much of any financial aid coming into Gaza not to improve people's lives but rather to store up arms and weapons and dig tunnels.
