Fauci did a great interview on NPR yesterday following the clown show hearing he had to be subjected to in Congress a few days prior.!

The virus could have gotten to humans in four ways:

1. Engineered virus deliberately released

2. Natural virus deliberately released

3. Engineered or natural virus accidentally released

4. zoonotic transmission from animal to humans

I think the scientific evidence is clear that the virus was NOT engineered nor had any "gain of function" added in a lab. That leaves either an accidental escape or a natural leap to humans.

Obviously, Fauci told MTG he had an open mind about either. Yes if it was an accidental release it would be good to know so as to prevent such escapes in the future. But Fauci also was concerned about mechanisms for natural transmission so as to prevent those in the future.

What the MAGA nuts don't understand that our RESPONSE to the pandemic does not hinge on whether it escaped from a lab or was natural- once the virus is infecting people- the response should be the response necessary for a public health emergency like a pandemic. Not politicizing it, calling it a hoax, etc.
