Exactly HOW does Tiktok use user's data? Really? From what I see, other than tracking the other accounts I follow, or looking at my own posts, the most Tiktok can get see my Instagram address and my name, phone number and email. Hell, Google and Meta scrape up more than that!

Politicians aren't concerned with our privacy or data- this is nothing more than political theater with an anti-chinese twist. Heck, we have the same issue in Michigan where Gotion US, which is a US based branch of the Chinese Gotion, wants to build a battery plant and bring good paying jobs to a rural community but the rightwingers in the state are all "we don't want chinese communists in Michigan." Hell, the chinese haven't been communist since 1990.

And china 'manipulating' algorithms to try to influence the election? Jeez- the Russians are already doing that with immitation local news outlets online pretending to be local news and feeding them Russian propaganda and attempting to influence the presidential election.

I hope Tiktok sues and wins. I am more concerned about Chinese and Russians buying property here and money laundering.
