Democrats are hardly sleeping or resigning to Trump- At least here in Michigan where the party developed a really good ground game in 2018 after the disaster of Clinton's 2016 campaign which refused to coordinate better with state and district party operations. I know because I was a Democratic candidate in then Michigan's 2nd congressional district and saw it first hand. Our state chair aided by Senator Debbie Stabenow put together a statewide program for 2018 which results in Democrats controlling the governor's office and both chambers in the legislature for the first time in 50 years! Dems swept all statewide elections and two Democrats flipped congressional districts long held by GOP (Elisa Slotkin and Haley Stevens).

Of course Democrats could be in a bubble and not taking data correctly but I don't see it
