Current right wing court rulings are so much bullshit! Historicism is an ideological tactic masquerading as a legal doctrine.

The problem with the courts' are that they cherrypick what "history" they choose to use to justify their rulings. They ignore actual gun control laws that were in place in the 1800s, for example.

Michigan passed a red flag law recently which will be undermined if SCOTUS sides with the abuser in this case! In Michigan alone, per the Michigan Advance, 45,817 females were murdered by a male in a single victim/single offender incident from 1996 to 2020. That is 1800 victims a year!

Apparently, to gun nutters, the right to own a gun supersedes the rights to "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness," of the rest of the population!
