BTW- I wrote to the White House as well as three congresswomen I am personally acquinted with from Michigan for continued support for Ukraine: Elissa Slotkin, HIllary Scholten and Haley Stevens.

Slotkin, btw, is running to replace our retiring Debbie Stabenow. I have been criticized by fellow progressives for supporting her- but I am pragmatic. Slotkin speaks fluent arabic, was previously a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst and Department of Defense official. She served three tours in Iraq as a CIA analyst. During the George W. Bush administration, she worked on the Iraq portfolio for the National Security Council. During Barack Obama's presidency, she worked for the State Department and the Department of Defense. Slotkin was acting assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs from 2015 to 2017.

This is the kind of background we need in a senator given all that is going on in the worlds IMO!
