As an atheist, I once had a similar conversation with a co-worker who was from the Dutch CRC tradition. I asked if he found out with absolute certainty there was no god would he go commit crimes such as rape or murder knowing there was no hell.

He said "maybe."

To which I replied that said more about HIM than about religion
