We see it here in my home state of Michigan. A Chinese based firm wanted to open a facility in rural mid-Michigan and the state's GOP starts ranting about communist infiltration and asserting our Democratic Governor is a CCP tool.

The irony is that the previous Republican governor made 12 trips to China trying to bring in businesses!

Ditto with the anti-Tiktok crowd crowing about Chinese alleged access to our user data. (I use Tiktok). If the GOP was so concerned about our online data privacy they's pass laws that also affect Facebook and Google and TwitterX too.
