Actuallym, if the conservatives on the SCOTUS really were "originalists" they would allow stronger gun regulations since the 2A was meant to keep arms so citizens could be the militia which was the defacto army of the day (witness the use of combined milita to put down the Whiskey Rebellion challenge to federal law).

Instead, SCOTUS has bowed to marketing and propaganda to push a false narrative - Scalia committed legal contortions in his decision on Heller pushing clearly NON- originailist arguments while pretending they were!
