Absolutely agree- The Tea Party rose up in response to a black man in the white house- Obama policies were barely liberal so the excuse of socialized medicine was also cover.

Ta-Nehisi Coates nailed it in his brilliant Atlantic article in 2016 calling Trump America's first white president- in that he explicitely ran as a WHITE MAN in the wake fo a black president and a woman opponent.

He couldn't do that in 2020 against another white guy but was able to double and triple down against Kamala as a mixed race woman- hence the focus on Haitians and migrants and other people of color.
